Mini-Wheat...wheat...wheat...

The radio announcer kept playing the ad for Vanilla Mini-Wheats this morning. I've had it in my head all day...Mini-Wheat...wheat...wheat...I'm sure that a lot of people are annoyed by it. However, I'm a sucker for advertising. I'm buying Mini-Wheats the next time I'm at the grocery store. I forgot that it was one of my favourite cereals.

I loved this ad so much that I had to go looking for it on the Internet and I found it on YouTube. Now, I've experienced the wonder that is YouTube.

Oy, I'm Old

MonkeyPants and I often talk about how we are aging. There's the obvious grey hairs (many!) and the effects gravity has on us (should I get a face lift? I think I'm the only one who thinks that though) and the thinking, as you get older, that everyone is way way way too loud, but here's one I had never considered.

I recently took a book out of the library that was large print - only because the regular print copies were all out. Low and behold, I loved it. It was SO easy to read. I'm a very fast reader, but I sped through this one since it was just a matter of my eyes gliding on the page.

I am officially old. Help me!

My Toilet Sounds Funny

MonkeyPants, you do your own plumbing, right? Didn't you fix your toilet last year? Well, could you look at mine? It makes a funny tinkle (after I tinkle) - like it doesn't stop running after I flush it. It's not all the time, but sometimes. When it runs like that, I have to slightly lift the flush lever then it stops. I will pay you in food.

Or I could just ask the superintendent and save you the airfare. Maybe that's what I'll do. I'm so resourceful.

TuneQueen out.

Am I that Scary?

As it was the time that my sister usually takes her bus home after work when I was downtown today, I decided to stop at the bus stop where she catches her bus to say hi to her. I noticed her doing a sudoku puzzle, waiting. I approached her and stoped about a foot away from her. I was looking at her, to see when she would notice me. I guess she got the heebie-jeebies because someone was staring at her so close to her because she popped her head up from her sudoku book, looked at me, then jumped and clutched her heart, scared! The look on her face!

I hope I don't have that effect on everyone :)

Life Flashed Before My Eyes...

So, the world almost lost TuneQueen today. I was crossing the street at a busy intersection downtown, with this other lady who was walking beside me and we nearly got smooshed by the *&^%$ who was talking on his cell phone and neglected to notice that the light was red and the pedestrian walking signal was on. The lady that was walking near me had a few choice words and we vented, joined by our near death experience. He ended up stopping about 6 feet away from me. I had a bit of a scare, that's for sure. Considering he was driving an SUV type of vehicle and going fast enough to make a squealing sound when he breaked to avoid us, I can see how we would have easily become fish-food.

I'm not sure the world could survive without TuneQueen. Guess we'll never have to know. Wink :)

Quest for the Perfect Pair of Jeans

I need new jeans. Unfortunately, the manufacturer has discontinued the line of jeans that I absolutely love. I did a search on the Internet and discovered that I'm not alone. Ikeda jeans has its fans out there who are similarly disappointed that we have to look for a new style.

I have known for a while that I have a different sense of fashion than the rest of the world, and it was confirmed at the mall today. The sales clerks were taken aback by my comments about the jeans that are fashionable...

"What are 'skinny' jeans? Oh, I see. Those look dumb."

"I don't want a pair of jeans that look like they've been dragged behind a car for days."

"Why are the cuffs turned up so high? It doesn't cost a lot to get them tailored to the right length."

Does everybody have the same difficulties?

The Internet is a Wonderful Place

I've mostly used the Internet for work. I'm only now discovering all the wonderful things to do on the Internet such as games and blogs...thanks to TuneQueen! Right now, even Internet commericals are fascinating. I don't think I'm ready for YouTube yet, though.

Yahoo Games

So, last night, MonkeyPants and I played Literati and Crib online. If you have never played Yahoo games, you should really check it out. It's loads of fun - whether you play by yourself or with others - wink, wink!

I enjoy Literati, Crib, Zuma (MonkeyPants, you have to try that one!)

That is all for now. TuneQueen out.
